We moved there quickly and without trouble.
Until Nathan saw the name of our webmaster. Apparently they really despised each other, and the only
reason this guy offered to help me is because he knew he’d get under
Nathan’s skin. Don’t get me
wrong, this new guy was good. But
he had just done it to piss Nathan off. And
piss him off he did.
Nathan continuously posted on the boards, disparaging the new webmaster.
The new guy was more reliable than Nathan, though, and I was content with
the situation. Until the new guy
dropped the ball as well. He stopped being on as often, and went from updating every
day to once a week. Commissioner
Caldera had since become President Caldera, but was not in total control.
Caldera knew he had to bring peace between Nathan and the new webmaster.
Nathan desperate wanted back in, but the new guy refused to work with
him. When I asked the new guy to
just tolerate Nathan for the good of the fed, he dismantled the website, and
left the main page with only five links and a logo.
This was the last straw. There
was no way to control the situation. With
great reluctance, Caldera posted the post he thought he’d never post (get all
that?). THE CWU IS CLOSED. Caldera refused to run the fed when he was not in control.
Caldera gave up on the CWU, and e-mailed the entire roster.
No, I will admit, I sent two different e-mails out.
One to most of the guys, and a different one to about five guys who’d
stuck with me all the way. I
informed them that I would start my own fed, free of the CWU’s past.
Anyone who wanted to come could, everyone else could stay with Nathan and
the CWU.
Everyone came with me.
I have run two feds, and had the luxury of never having to actively
recruit. I’ve always had the
recruiting done for me, and my writing spoke for itself.
The CWU roster followed me almost in whole, and their loyalty surprised
me. So I began my own website. . .
And dear lord, it sucked worse than my first roleplay.
Luckily, everyone put up with it, until I taught myself HTML.
That’s right. . . No books, no tutorials. In a week and a half of studying the HTML on the freeservers template, President Caldera started to learn. Finally, Caldera put up a design by none other than John Reed. . . And GCW was born.
